Adults

The club is not running an adult course in 2009.

Instead, it is participating in the

MALAHIDE OPEN WEEKEND WATERSPORTS FESTIVAL

Sat. & Sun. 23 & 24 May

Try a 2 hour session in Powerboating, Cruiser, Keelboat or Dinghy sailing or Windsurfing

This is an ideal opportunity to try your hand at sailing in dinghies, small keelboats or cruising sail boats.

Juniors

In addition to occasional short courses, three 2 week summer courses are run for junior members in July and August at the Broadmeadows facility. These are Irish Sailing Association (ISA) approved and cater for Levels 1, 2, 3 , 4 (Racing) and 4 (Advanced sailing Skills).

Go to Junior Courses for further information and application form but please note that we have been unable to cater for all applicants in the past so early booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

Children must be aged nine or over, be able to swim (a standard distance in clothes in accordance with ISA standards) and have a boat or a place in a boat.

Parents are expected to help with on-site supervision (usually for one morning or an afternoon).

 Our courses are run all year round, 7 days a week:

• Adult Sailing: Tuition on your own boat is available all winter and tailored to your specific needs – yachts, dinghies, catamarans and keelboats. We also run the ISA Sailing Scheme on a Backman 21 Keelboat from April to September each year.
• Junior Sailing: Currently accepting applications. Please visit http://www.myc.ie/JuniorCourses.htm.
• Powerboating: ISA National Powerboat Certificate (level 2); ISA Safety Boat Certificate (level 3); ISA Recreational Powerboat Certificate (level 3); ISA Advanced Powerboat Certificate (level 3).
• Shorebased: *Irish Marine VHF (SRC1 & 2); ISA Coastal Navigation for Small Boats.
• Instructor training: pre-entry assessments and instructor courses organised for Dinghy Instructor, Senior Instructor, Advanced Sailing Instructor, Racing Instructor, Windsurfing Instructor and Powerboating Instructor.
• Windsurfing instruction: private tuition and certificate courses available. New equipment purchased each year.
