The weather was perfect for when our traveling Armada of Optimists descended on Sutton Dinghy club for the annual Crosbie cup challenge.
37 optimists took part in this challenge and MYC was represented by Aodh and Jamie Wynne, James Anglim, Kate Campion, Tara and Joanna Berry
Congratulations to all.
The Optimist Connachts took place in Waterford Harbour Sailing Club over the weekend.
MYC sent its Armada but again the wind Gods came back to haunt are intrepid sailors with the first days sailing blown out completely.
Sunday was much better and racing began in earnest with the “sunny southeast” living up to its reputation to allow for a great days racing.
Our travelling fleet acquitted themselves very well, congratulations to Kate Campion, Niamh Lynch, James Anglim, Tara and Joanna Berry.
All 3 optimist regionals have had unprecedented run of bad weather, yet it’s a testament to enthusiasm of our optimist sailors that they keep coming back for more!
Away events are fantastic fun for all the family and seen here in the photo having fun on the Sunday is Kirsty Berry with Darragh Lynch ready to try out the floating bouncy castles!
