First Aid Course

The importance of having First Aid knowledge cannot be underestimated for unexpected situations that can arise at home, in the community, while socializing or during a sailing event.  The greatest benefit of First Aid is that it allows those trained with a potentially life saving ability to assist / maintain an injured or ill person, until an ambulance arrives at the scene.

A First Aid Course will be held at MYC, St James Tce,

over three weeks on Wednesday nights:

10th, 17th and 24th of October from 7pm -9pm.

This Course is not just for those who are on the water, everyone is welcome to join the course and it will be especially useful for Parents, Cruiser and Dinghy Sailors, Rescue Boat and Shore Based Crews.  You will see from the following course outline that it will be delivered in a very practical manner that will position you to be able to deal with a wide variety of medical situations including: loss of consciousness, CPR, AED usage, head injuries, concussion, compression, bleeding, shock, hypo and hyperthermia, fractures, choking, burns, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, heart attack, stroke, meningitis.

The course cost is €70 and if you email Course Co-ordinator Colm Wynne to book your place by the 6th of October please.
