Gibney Classic 2017

The Gibney Classic was sailed on possibly the most glorious day this year with relatively light winds of 10-19 knots.

No need for oilskins just gallons of sunscreen!

There was a great turnout of 43 boats including 7 of the Howth 17 fleet taking part. There were also some further Howth boats who cruised to Malahide for the festivities afterwards. Considering the event was competing against the Dunlaoire to Dingle race and Sovereigns week this was a great achievement for the organising team. As usual the team at Gibney’s had a great reception waiting for the sailors and had a very packed house due to the concert in Malahide Castle. Conratulations to Russel, Maeve on Kahera, who took second prize in C3 IRC and was 3rd on ECHO.
