Howth Yacht Club’s 6 week Autumn League series has this year attracted 140 boats from northside and southside clubs from mid-September to the finale this Saturday 21st October.
This year, MYC is well represented in Cruiser 111 where we have the majority of entrants with Buster, Kahera, Shenanigans and Tobago, and in Cruisers IV by Encore and in Cruisers V by Thira and Cheyenne, representing a total of 46 MYC sailors.
Tobago came good last week by taking the honours on Echo, no mean achievement in a highly competitive class. The previous week Kahera was 2nd followed home by Tobago.
With only one race left, Buster and Kahera are placed 7th & 8th on IRC, while on Echo, it’s a similar situation where Buster lies in 9th and Kahera 10th with 2 points separating the boats, so it is all to sail for in the last race as to which MYC Boat will come out on top in Cruiser 111.
In the Cruiser 4 White Sail division, Dermot Cronin’s Encore is placed 5th on IRC and 6th on Echo.
So with the last race pending, we wish all the MYC boats and their 46 crew the best of luck this coming Saturday.
Brian Stewart, MYC Sailing Secretary
