Dinghy Frostbite Series

Already 4 weeks into the first Frostbite Series of the season and a total of eight races have been contested to date, with as many as 9 Lasers racing each week, joined by some 420s, Topaz and Optimist sailors. Temperatures have remained mild and wind conditions have ranged from the very light to a moderate 15+knots providing some great sailing conditions and competitive racing with a taste of something for everyone.
It has been great to see so many of the junior Laser sailors who just joined the Class this year take part in the racing and give the “Masters” sailors a run for their money! With another six races yet remaining in the series David Kirwan currently leads, with Peter Kilmartin only 3 points behind and the challenge for 3rd place hotly contested (and changing on a weekly basis).
A new second series open to non-members this year starts on 10th November for following six weeks running up until the 15th December where perhaps we will see more of the fleet out on the water and conditions more akin to a real Frostbite Series!
