Family Fun Sailing at Broadmeadows – Bank Holiday Monday 7th May!

Our first Family Fun Sail at Broadmeadows was a huge success. It was great to see so many families and young children join in the fun with many of our recently joined cadets joining in the fun, meeting existing members and to try sailing for the first time.

We had 41 sailors in total on the water includeing new Cadets, some family members who brought their non-sailing siblings and partners to sail our 2 club visions, 2 club fevas, the entire club topaz fleet and 1 oppie, along with members own boats.

Sailors also got to try out windsurfing under the care and guidance of our new Kona Class Captain Joe Galeckas.

The weather was amazing, so this really helped us out along with the members who made it happen:

– Dave Fowler and Neil Soffe, for getting everyone sorted with a boat.

– Daniel Flavin Jnr and Hugo Micka who came down early to rig both Visions and Fevas, helping to organise lots more on land and finally bringing sailors out on the Visions during the afternoon.

– Thanks to Malahide Sea Scouts for providing drivers for 2 of our rescue boats.

Finally, thanks to Colm, Darragh, and Dan for overseeing everything on land while everyone was enjoying themselves out on water.

We hope to make this a monthly event, if the weather is in our favour!  So watch the website and the weekly Masthead for updates.
