With stunning views of the Lower Estuary, the nearby Island Golf Club and Lambay Island further away and with a warm, inviting ambience, MYC’s St. James’s Terrace clubhouse is a popular venue for members and their friends.
Whether it’s for a casual drink, an après-racing gathering, a Friday night dining experience, a special social occasion (such as a significant birthday or anniversary) or a fund-raising event (e.g. the RNLI on St. Patrick’s Day), MYC offers comfort and a welcoming atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.
The Social Committee organises a broad range of social activities each year, from table quizzes and barbeques to parties on such occasions as New Year’s Eve, St. Valentine’s Night and Hallow‘Een, and Rugby Internationals on a big screen.
The ‘Upper Deck’ can cater for up to 50 diners and is ideal for discos and social occasions. On display there are Honours Boards marking the sailing achievements of members past and present and those who have won the Club Person of the Year Award.
Features of the ‘Lower Deck’ include the trophy cabinet, a small library, Wi-Fi and fireplace, while the ‘Aft Deck’ is a snug area to enjoy a drink or watch TV in intimate surroundings.
At the Dinghy Sailing Centre at the Broadmeadows facility, BBQs are a feature of the sailing season, especially during regattas and open meetings, while younger members are also entertained with discos and parties.
