MYC is unique in the sailing world in that it has two separate clubhouses and two distinctly different sailing waters. Most Dinghy sailing events will be held on the inland Upper Estuary – known as the Broadmeadow Water – which provides ideal, non-tidal conditions for dinghy sailing, racing and sail training. Facilities there include a large and secure dinghy storage pen and a modern clubhouse which was re-built and re-opened in 2012 as the Club’s Dinghy Sailing Centre.
Directions are shown here from Broadmeadows to St. James’s Terrace. Should you need to get from St. James’s Terrace to Broadmeadows just be aware of the one way streets. Turn LEFT out of SJT carpark, at the T-junction with the Mall (R106) turn RIGHT and take a RIGHT down either Townyard Lane or Old Street then turn LEFT and continue straight, under the railway bridge along the upper estuary until you see the Broadmeadows clubhouse at the bend in the road.
