We’re delighted to kick off our autumn series of talks at Malahide Yacht Club with Joanna Donnelly, one of Ireland’s most familiar and respected weather forecasters, on Wednesday 10 September at 8:00pm.
Joanna studied Applied Mathematics at DCU before joining Met Éireann in 1995, later becoming a meteorologist and broadcaster on RTÉ Radio 1 and television. Alongside her broadcasting career, she has been a STEM ambassador, a long-standing judge at the RDS Science Blast, and the award-winning author of two acclaimed books on Irish weather.
On the night, Joanna will share insights from her 30 years in forecasting, with practical advice for sailors and sea-goers, followed by a lively Q&A. Her books will also be on sale after the talk — and, in Joanna’s own words, “they make a great Christmas present!”
